About Us
Austin Aquarunning was started in 1999, primarily to aid the injured in getting back on
the road to recovery...in shape! Since 1999, several hundred runners, non-runners
and general fitness enthusiasts have gone through Austin Aquarunning programming.
Amy Gayle, an avid runner and deep water runner, started Austin Aquarunning after
many years of reaping the benefits of aquarunning with her own training and racing.

Amy competed for the University of Illinois, on the cross-country and track teams in

Her proudest achievement was receiving the Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award for the

Aquarunning was a large part of her training while competing in high school and
college, and attributes much of her success to a strong cross-training program. Amy
currently owns a personal training/coaching business and works with runners and
non-runners alike in achieving their health, fitness and performance goals. She
specializes in working with injured runners, and returning them to running after injury.
